Trix trichos grece capillus.

Apparatus:

Trix ABC e | Trhis f

trichos ACD | tricos B e | thrices f

Translation:

Trix, genitive trichos, is Greek for Latin capillus {"hair"}.

Commentary:

θρίξ /thríx/, gen. τριχός, /trikhós/ means "hair”.

Simon as an Italian would have pronounced theta, i.e. Θ,θ, like /t/, hence his transcription trix. This contrasts with Greek speakers, who did then as they do now pronounce it like the "th" sound in English "thrift".
