Scerbin arabice est arbor alkitram et est cedrus apud Dyascoridem supra in cedria.

Translation:

Scerbin is Arabic for the tree {that produces} alkitram {"cedar resin"} and it is called cedrus {"cedar"} in Dyascorides. See above under Cedria.


Commentary:

Wehr (1976): ﺷﺮﺑﻳﻥ /šarbīn/ "a variety of larch"; Siggel (1950: 45): ﺷﺮﺑﻳﻥ /šarbīn/ Cedrus, Ceder {"cedar"}; Iuniperus oxycedrus (Cupressac.) {i.e. "prickly juniper, prickly cedar"}.

Wehr (1976): ﻗﻃﺮﺍﻥ /qaṭrān (qiṭrān, qaṭirān)/ "tar"; Siggel (1950: 60): ﻗﻃﺮﺍﻥ /qiṭrān/ "Teer, Harz, bes. Zedernharz. {i.e. 'tar, resin, especially cedar resin'}"

cedria is "the pitch or resin from cedar" acc. to Lewis & Short (1879).
