Translation:
Ruman or roman is Arabic for Latin malum granatum {"pomegranate"}, likewise romania, a food made from it.
Commentary:
Wehr (1976): ﺭﻣﺎﻥ /rummān/ "pomegranate".
Lane (1984: 1161): ﺭﻣﺎﻧﻴﺔ /rummānīya/ "a kind of food prepared with pomegranates...".
