Felfelium
From Simon Online
Felfelium Stephanus pro fulfel quod est piper scripsit.
Apparatus:
Felfelium (-liũ e) AC e | Felfelũ B | felfellum f
fulfel AC f | fufel (or sufel e) B e
Translation:
Stephanus writes felfelium for Arabic fulfel, which is piper {"pepper"} in Latin.
Commentary:
Wehr (1985): ﻓﻠﻔﻞ /fulful, filfil/ "pepper".
Stephanus has a tendency to latinize most Arabic words he encounters in his translations.
Cf. his Breviarium has Greek: peperi - Arabic: ferfelũ. [[1]]
