Translation:
Fanax is Arabic for Greek/Latin panax. The Arabs put /f/ for /p/, because they do not have the sound /p/.

Siggel (1950: 55): ﻓﺎﻧﺎﻗﺲ /fānāqas/ das Panaces ds. Diosk. {i.e. "the panaces of Dioscorides"}, πάνακες {/pánakes/}.
