Deneb elacrab infra in eliotropia.

Apparatus:

Whole entry missing in B efjp.

Translation:

Deneb elacrab, see below the entry on eliotropia.

Commentary and botanical identification:

This item is probably a later addition and not an original entry by Simon, which would explain its absence from witnesses B efjp.

Cf. Siggel (1950: 37): ﺫﻧﺐ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﺮﺏ /ḏanab al-ʕaqrab/ Scorpiurus sulcatus {syn. of Scorpiurus muricatus L. [[1]], [[2]], [[3]]}.

Cf. Lane (1984: 981): ﺫﻧﺐ ﺍﻟﻌﻘﺮﺏ /ḏanab al-ʕaqrab/ Scorpioides, or scorpion grass: so called in the present day [[4]], [[5]], [[6]].

Cf. Wehr (1976): ﺫﻧﺐ /ḏanab/ "tail"; ﻋﻘﺮﺏ /ʕaqrab/ "scorpion, sting".

N.b. Simon sees Deneb elacrab as the Arabic name for eliotropia q.v. But Siggel's and Lane's identifications differ considerably from those usually suggested for eliotropia.
