Auram
From Simon Online
Auram arabice apostema ut in liber de doctrina arabica.
Apparatus:
{arabice} est add. e
apostema AC e | aposteã B | apƆma j | ap͡a fp
Translation:
Auram is Arabic for Latin/Greek apostema {"abscess, imposthumes"} as stated in the liber de doctrina arabica.
Commentary:
Auram:
Wehr (1976): ﻭﺭﻡ /waram/, plural ﺍﻭﺭﺍﻡ /aurām/ "swelling, intumescence, tumour".
Simon's often quoted source, the Liber de doctrina arabica, has so far not been identified, but cf. what must be a similar glossary/dictionary, i.e. Vocabulista ed. Schiaparelli (1871: 213): ﻭﺭﻡ /waram/ APOSTEMA [[1]]; p.247: ﻭﺭﻡ /waram/, ﺍﻭﺭﺍﻡ /aurām/ APOSTEMA [[2]].
